If you're planning to apply for a skills assessment as a teacher in Australia, here’s your heads-up: the Australian Institute for Teaching and School Leadership (AITSL) has announced an upcoming fee increase that takes effect from 1 July 2025.

This means any application submitted on or after 1 July will be charged under the new fee structure. But if you apply before 30 June 2025, you’ll still pay the current, lower rates.

• Applications must be submitted online via the AITSL portal to be valid.
• The date you submit (not the date you start your application) determines which fee applies.
• GST is not charged on AITSL migration assessment fees.
