📢 New Online Functionality: Paper-Based Family Visa Applications Can Now Be Managed in ImmiAccount

Great news for families and visa applicants! The Department of Home Affairs has rolled out a new feature that allows applicants who lodged paper-based applications for certain family visas to import their application into ImmiAccount.

 

While these applications still need to be lodged using a paper form, once the Department acknowledges the application, applicants can now import it into their ImmiAccount to access a range of online services.

✅ What You Can Do After Importing

Once imported into ImmiAccount, you can:

  • 📎 Attach additional documents
  • 📬 View correspondence from the Department
  • 📝 Update personal details
  • 🔄 Track application status
  • 🧾 Lodge Bridging Visa applications
  • ❌ Submit a withdrawal request online

Child Visas

  • Subclass 101 (Child – offshore)
  • Subclass 802 (Child – onshore)
  • Subclass 445 (Dependent Child)
  • Subclass 102 (Adoption)
  • Subclass 117 & 837 (Orphan Relative)
  •  

Other Family Visas

  • Subclass 114 & 838 (Aged Dependent Relative)
  • Subclass 115 & 835 (Remaining Relative)
  • Subclass 116 & 836 (Carer)
  •  

Long-Term Resident Visas

  • Subclass 151 (Former Resident)
  •  

New Zealand Citizen Family Relationship Visa

  • Subclass 461

📌 Important Notes

  • For subclasses 101, 102, 117, applications lodged in Australia can be imported regardless of the date of lodgement. For offshore applications, the import feature is only available if the application was lodged on or after 1 April 2020.
  • For subclasses 114, 115, 116, the offshore application import feature applies only to applications lodged on or after 25 June 2020.
