Dear Krunal Sir, I'm on a student visa (subclass 500), which was granted for a masters (coursework). I have finished one year of study and changed to masters by research degree with a different university with new CoE. My current visa is until March 2026. As I have enrolled in a masters by research course and my course has been commenced, can I start working full-time now (unrestricted work hours) or I need to apply new PGR visa now? I have visa condition 8105.

If you check the wording- you hold a student visa granted in relation to Master by research. I think you are not holding this visa. So better apply one.

If you can work over 48 hours a fortnight You can only work over 48 hours a fortnight if: you hold a Student visa granted in relation to a masters degree by research or doctorate degree and your masters degree by research or doctorate degree has started it is a registered part of your course that is mandatory, that was specified as a requirement of the course when the course particulars were entered into the Commonwealth Register of Institutions and Courses for Overseas Students
