Hi Sir, Im on Bridging visa now, I changed my employer and filed a new 482 visa, it is processing now. I want to try skilled migration as they is no guarantee for 186. I did my skill assessment including skilled employment assessment. I'm working in WA now, however graduated in VIC. My occupation is 221213 (External Auditor), Points 85 - 189, Work experience -2.5 years in Australia. What are my chances and please check the backlog , what else should I do

Hi Sir thank you, that’s the reason I changed my employer in VIC and moved to WA , my VIC employer is not ready for 186, so current WA employer is fine but I have to work 2 years with them they lodged 482 for now and after 186

Thanks for sharing the details. Since External Auditor (221213) is not listed as a priority occupation in WA, that could be why you haven’t received an invite yet despite your strong score of 85 points. WA nomination tends to favour local graduates and occupations on its priority list — and since you studied in VIC, that might also be a limiting factor. Given you’re on a 482 visa, the Subclass 186 (Transition Stream) could offer a more secure and structured PR pathway if your employer is supportive. It’s often more predictable than waiting indefinitely for a 189 or 190 invite, especially with the current backlog and tight quotas. You can still keep your EOI active for the next financial year and explore WA nomination if eligibility changes — but realistically, the employer-sponsored route may offer a faster and more certain option. Have you spoken with your employer about supporting a 186 visa?
