I’ve received a positive skills assessment with a deemed date ranging from 1st Jan 2015 to 11th Nov 2024, totaling 7.37 years. However, the period between 1st Jan 2017 and 30th Jun 2019 was surprisingly not counted and marked as “not relevant.” I submitted my EOI reflecting 7.37 years of experience. Since Home Affairs only considers the last 10 years of experience, does that mean I will remain at 7.5 years for long time, and not reach 8 years in June 2025 as I initially expected? Pls advice.

You’re absolutely right in your understanding. Since the Department of Home Affairs only considers work experience from the last 10 years, and part of your experience was deemed “not relevant”, you may remain at 7.5 years and not reach the 8-year threshold in June 2025 as you expected. ⚠️ There’s a risk of losing points, so it’s important to plan ahead.
